رنگ استخری بر پایه رزین اکریلیک و یک رنگ پایه آب می‌باشد و با توجه به مسائل زیست محیطی و عدم استفاده از حلال های آلی و مواد مضر، کاربرد آن رو به افزایش است و جزء رنگ‌های قابل شستشو محسوب می‌شود. بکارگیری رزین اکریلیک در تولید رنگ های استخری باعث می شود که اجرای رنگ به سهولت انجام شود. همچنین باعث افزایش سرعت کار، پوشش بالا، خشک شدن سریع و رفع بوی نامطبوع رنگ شود.

آماده سازی سطح:
سطح زیرآیند طبق استاندارد (8504:1992 ISO) باید عاری از هرگونه آلودگی مانند چربی، روغن، گرد و غبار و رطوبت باشد. زیرا عوامل باعث کاهش شدید چسبندگی رنگ به سطح می‌گردد. عمل تمیزکاری بايد توسط شوینده‌های مناسب انجام گیرد. در صورتی که رنگ مستقیماً بر روی سطح اعمال شود، نخست بايد آماده سازی مربوطه روی سطح مورد نظر انجام گیرد.

کاربرد:
رنگ آکریلیک سطوح خارجی از بهترین رزین اکریلیک آب پایه تهیه شده است و با برخورداری از چسبندگی عالی، غیرقابل اشتعال، قدرت پوشش بالا برای رنگ‌آمیزی سطوح گچی، سیمانی و آجری سطوح خارجی ساختمان به کار می‌رود. رنگ‌های استخری با ظاهری آبی یا سفید رنگ و دارای عمر مفید طولانی می‌باشد که جهت آب‌بندی استخرهای شنا و حوضچه‌های آب شیرین پیشنهاد می‌شود.

روش اعمال:
کلیه تجهیزات قبل از استفاده بایستی با آب تمیز شستشو گردد. از جمله ابزار مورد نیاز در اجرای رنگ اکریلیک می‌توان به قلم مویی، غلطک و پیستوله اشاره کرد که با توجه به مهارت رنگ‌آمیزی فرد، کیفیت رنگ نهایی متغیر می‌باشد. متداول‌ترین ابزار رنگ‌آمیزی برای رنگ‌های اکریلیک در داخل و خارج از خانه، قلم مویی و غلطک رنگ می‌باشد.
